Soft Washing

Soft washing uses low water pressure combined with carefully selected biodegradable cleaning solutions to kill and remove algae, moss, lichen, and other biological growth from exterior surfaces. Unlike pressure washing, which simply blasts surface growth away — often forcing water into walls and damaging surfaces — soft washing treats the root cause. Can you soft wash and paint in the same visit?
We often combine soft washing with exterior painting, but not in the same visit. The surface must fully dry and any biological treatment must work before painting — typically a few days to a week. We'll plan the job properly so the preparation is done right, ensuring your paint job lasts.
Will soft washing remove the black marks on my fascias?
Yes. The black marks typically seen on fascias and soffits are caused by algae and biological growth running off the roof. Soft washing effectively removes these stains. In some cases, particularly old or oxidised fascias may benefit from repainting after cleaning for the best result.
Do I need to be home when you do the work?
For exterior work you do not usually need to be home throughout the job. We'll agree access requirements with you in advance. We always photograph the property before and after so you have a full record of what was done.
What happens if it rains on the day?
Light rain during soft washing typically doesn't affect the outcome. However, we will not carry out exterior painting in wet or very cold conditions as this affects adhesion and finish quality. If conditions aren't suitable, we'll rearrange at no charge.
